Meet Ope Abitoye, popular Nigerian model especially in the makeup industry. Ope is mostly known as a face model and has worked with many makeup artists in Nigeria including myself. So when the opportunity to have another bridal shoot with came up, i was bent on doing something different on her. I got up early and researched on looks that had been done on her, desperately searching for something different but i found that Ope's face had seen it all. Literally every look i had in mind had been done before by one makeup artist or the other. it got to a point i had to contact her and rub minds with her. We eventually settled for smokey eyes and soft lips. I guess you can't have too much of smokey right...lol
This regal look would not be complete were it not for the beautiful bridal crown provided by Velvet Box. It was so beautiful and it sat right on Ope's hair beautifully styled by Tunde of HairBySleame.

Compliments of the season to you all!!!!

I hope you guys had a fun christmas holiday.... i know i did.  I had too much time on my hands this rather long holiday ( not that i'm complaining), so i thought i would make another video. i know i've two videos showing how to tie gele already but this one is different. This video shows how to tie the asooke gele which is different in length and texture from the sego gele.

I hope you guys enjoys this new video. Don't forget to leave comments below.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I am dedicating today's post to my longtime friend and sister Damilola Oremuyiwa aka Shaki aka Orebe who got married this weekend. I am so so happy the day finally came after planning for almost a year. The whole event was such a huge success from thursday for the engagement ceremony to Saturday, the main church ceremony. I am so happy for my dear friend and i pray that your marriage be a source of endless joy to you and yours in Jesus' name.

HI EVERYBODY!!!
So, last week i was bored at the studio. It seemed like it was going to be a slow Saturday (boy, was i wrong!) so i decided to play a little with makeup. i just had hair fixed and all so i was feeling a little bit fly with myself....maybe a lot sha. Anyway, i thought i would do  a soft brown smokey look. maybe would post a video on it soon. pictures and details of the products used below.

Hi guys!!!
You remember how I've been promising to be a better blogger and all? Well, i have started keeping that promise by bringing you better content and not just pictures of brides i have worked on. I am going to try (emphasis on try) to bring you videos on how to achieve certain looks by yourself.

So, here we have a video on how to tie sego glee by yourself when attending all your Owambe parties and all. its a short 4 minute video and i hope you find it useful..

please don't forget to like, comment and subscribe

After the damaged we caused on Instagram and Facebook (in case you didn't know,  we broke the Internet last weekend), it is only fitting that I dedicate this post to this beauty.

I'm not even going to bore you with promises of being a better blogger this morning. ..im sure you all are tired of my excuses. So, until I get better, y 'all will just have accept and love my lazy self like that.

Today's post is about my long term friend,Mrs Boma Fiddo. We go as far back as OSU days. Boma was so popular in class back then..she was one those people who had started making money as early as 200 level from event decoration and makeup artistry.  In fact she was the first to show me how to tie gele back then. Now she's married with 2 beautiful boys and no longer lives in the country.  So I was surprised when u got her message saying she was in country. It's only normal that she would get a beat face from me.. she personally wanted to know what she would look like as a Yoruba bride. I doubt if anyone has ever made her up sef...considering the fact that she did her makeup herself on her wedding day.
I'd say she turned out stunning but that would be blowing my own trumpet and I don't wanna sound arrogant so I'll let you guys see for yourself.

Thanks to Olatunji @hairbysleame for the Asooke connect. Jewelry by Bejewelled by Tosyne

Good morning people. Today, I want to hear from people who know my work...people who have been following my work for a while. I'm still growing in my artistry but I'm curious to hear your thoughts and how I can be better for you guys.
I need you to speak as free - ly as you can; tell me what you think my strengths and my flaws are. All constructive criticisms are welcome. You be anonymous if you want but please try not yab my personal character. We want to talk about my skills as a makeup artist so let's stay within that line.

All comments will be published.
Looking forward to this.

When Oyinda told me her Asooke will be different shades of blue I was like " ooookkk , will there be white or silver or some other color  to tone it down.?" And she was like Nop..just blue.
I honestly didn't think it would come out as nice as this. I was stunned at the  simplicity and style of the whole outfit. The outfit was simple yet it screamed for attention at the same time. Big shout out to Bimms24...She never disappoints.
Aunty Oyinda was a control freak oooo...chai! She refused to delegate and when she did, she still got up to do it herself. Makeup took hours because she kept standing up to this and that, kept talking on the phone...She knew what she wanted and i must give it to her , her wedding was organised. Everything turned out nice.
Happy Married life dear.

Hallo....
I know I know...e don tay...but I honestly can't help it. I actually have a lot of looks, tutorials, videos I want to share with you guys but the process of Editing, typing is just to cumbersome and there's never enough time.
But i had to find time and break my hiatus for my girl, Folakemi.  It was her wedding on the 30th of May and we had to turn up in Ibadan. And turn up we did!  Everything went according to plan. Except for the makeup part. I had a makeup look I wanted to do for her but this girl loves pink in a way I may never understand.  I know it looks good on her yes...but one day one day sha... I'll make her wear something other pink.

Pictures below

I know it's been ages and I know you are tired of my excuses....i'm tired of giving them myself. But I know you all love me and you all will continue to accept me till become a better blogger. After all,  Linda Ikeji blog wasn't built in a day .....

Anyway, today I'm sharing pictures from Mosunmola 's Nikkai and Engagement ceremony.  You all remember Mosun nau....She and my other friend Sesi got engaged on the same day last year.
Her ceremony held last Sunday and I must confess I put myself under a little bit of pressure. See ehn, Mosun herself is a makeup artist and she's really good with her face, so that means there's absolutely no look she hasn't worn before. After plenty prayer, the holy spirit just said to me, Lola just keep it simple. And i did. And it turned out great. And she made a beautiful bride.  And i was so proud. And i.....Ok that's enough.  Lol

Thank you Mossbaby for the opportunity to make you beautiful on this big day. God bless your new home.

Hello everybody. Hope your weekend is going on fine.
I recently teamed up with some amazing Vendors to create a series  of - the - box bridal looks for 2015. These pictures are daring and full of colors. I don't usually do a lot of colors but I really love the outcome of these ones. Went out of my comfort  zone for this.
A big thank you to everyone who made this possible. .Bimms24..This lady makes amazing gele with textures that just agree with you and her accessories are just beautiful. Bejewelled by Tosyne,  thank you for coming to my aid at such notice. Looking forward to working with you again. Yagazie, I'm hopelessly in love with your work. Also..my models, my friends. ..God bless you guys.

Hi Everyone. I want to start a new series on my blog where I can just talk about random stuff ranging from product reviews to experiences to downright ranting. Today I'm gonna start with the latter!

I get calls daily from brides to be, clients....talking about how they love my work and cant wait to have me beat their faces. Them brides know how to make a MUA's swell and swoon with pride and gratitude 😆😄....until the price haggling starts😐. Then you start to hear "does that include my mum, sis, cheif bridesmaid and 4 bridesmaids?"😮
Or you hear " i actually have a cousin who can do it better and free sef, i just dont want family thing...shey u get?" ...#lol i just nod and say "yea i get you"... After politely declining. ..you now get feedbacks like "shes so proud" or "she's not all that" or worse "when did she even start that she's charging that much?"😠
My country people, this hustle have tay oooo ...7 glorious years.
Sometimes,  it even gets worse. I've given a bride credit facility once because those that referred and vouched for her are very good close friends. I almost didn't take her job because it wasn't convenient but she begged and begged and sent almost our mutual fried to me. And she promised to pay on her wedding day. Wedding day came and the story was "don't worry my cousin is trying out atms as we speak" till we finished cousin did not come o. Then it changed to "don't worry, I'll credit you during the week".
Long story short, Mrs Bride did not pay o. Next thing I heard from her was, "my makeup was not fine" "my makeup did not last all day" yet Mrs Bride won't stop using the pictures as her BBM dp.

Another time, a completely random person just ran my personality down for absolutely no reason. This is someone I'm sure I've never met or had any dealings with. When the bride was asking me if I knew the lady, to which I said no, she was shocked.  When she went on to tell all she said about me It was my turn to be shocked.

To be fair to we makeup artists, this job of ours is not easy. We are in a world where MUAs are spring up everyday that you constantly have to up your game. We do all we can to stay relevant, to remain in your consciousness. We have to constantly be creative, research on best products to use for you guys. We are your stylists, makeup artists, photographer! Our backs, calves, feet...ache all the time... we bring you that desired fame when all them wedding pages feature you because of our work on you and on top of that, Dollar don cost!!!!😆😆😆

So, biko, take it easy on us and pay us what we are worth.

Happy Valentine's day my country people! !! Yeah, I know it's tomorrow but I'm just so excited. Them Politicians/INEC  be wan mess up that day for us but #GODIWIN.  Lol... but they succeeded in messing up the month of February for we makeup artists. No bride wanted/wants to get married on an election day so no one fixed their dates in February  (as perfect as February 14 would have been for weddings...msheeeew ) . Now, they want to mess up March for us..God dey.
Enough of my ranting jare.. I want to treat you guys to special valentine looks; from private dinner with you and bae to turning up at the club at night! And we are going to wear Red eyeshadow!😆. I know a lot of people are sceptical about Red eyeshadow..but this step by step application will show you there's nothing to fear.
